Quick Observation

Needed to see for myself how bad it was out there.  After a short run I was thankful to be in walk mode again, I have never experienced a crust that bad.

After digging a pit we found about a foot of wonderful blower pow capped with a relentless .5 to 1cm thick rime ice crust that was on all exposed, sheltered and shaded aspects. In areas the crust itself would colapse and send shooting cracks out to nearby trees and terrain features.

We had no propogation and layers were stubborn to react. Had an ECTN24 65cm down on buried gropel and surface hoar(the sleeping dragon) and ECTN26 95cm down on facets.

Also noticed the glide crack forming in the Skook Chutes.
