Skook Ridge

Went to N side of Canyon Creek to look for recent wind loading and buried persistent weak layers. 

• Winds did not reach forecasted levels today. Calm winds 5000- 6500ft with intermittent gusts. Temps: 20's-30's F throughout day.
• New snow 11"-13" total , snow density change during storm with graupel in top 6" of new snow. Unable to locate buried surface hoar previously located in the area.
• One isolated rumbling collapse on Easterly aspect (6,200ft) where snowpack was unobstructed to the sky on second pass over skin track. Cornice drop on North facing aspects (6800ft) with minor isolated sluffing.
• Ran into a days off staff member who reported a 6' shooting crack on a open, upper elevation, E aspect slope just out of the resort boundary near Flower Point.
