Persistents, getting deeper

I left the skis at home this afternoon and just rode a snow-go to see how the fresh snow is stacking up in the Swan.  Obscured conditions meant I did not observe much avalanche terrain and didn't ride any, although during a brief cloud break at 1630h, I couldn't see any crowns on steeper W aspects 5-6k'. 

• On a NE aspect at 6000', CTM (SP) x2 down 35 on buried surface hoar and 3 mm graupel. 
• On a W aspect at 6400', I found ECTP10 and ECTP12 down 35.  Both of these locations had sudden planar results failing on the same notable 1cm grey stripe up 15 and 25 cm from the 1/13 benchmark crust.  Also found easy planar failures on an interface dn 15cm (ECTN, shovel tilt test), but the new snow above was F hardness, just starting to get slabby.
