Quick Observation
Near freezing, overnight temperatures left a thin supportable surface at low and mid-elevations. By noon, this had broken down on a north aspect resulting in corn below 5500' and punchy conditions to 6400'. The surface remained frozen at upper-elevations where a couple of inches of snow from Thursday's storm was transported by the wind into very thin harmless slabs.
We observed 2 glide cracks on a SE aspect of Mt Penrose at 6900'. These form in this location yearly.
South-facing low and mid-elevation slopes look worse for the wear after a couple of weeks of wet avalanche activity.
No recent avalanche activity observed.
