Road Construction Season?

The consecutive days of sunshine and getting stopped for road construction in the Middle Fork, made us wonder about an early summer.

• We used ski crampons from the trailhead to 5600’.  The snow transitioned from a 10cm supportable crust to dry, settled snow. 
• We noted that the avalanche activity was remarkably similar to conditions on Monday.  We observed a few additional point releases from rocky outcroppings and a little more wet, loose debris in previous slide paths.
• We skied shaded, north and northwest facing slopes that were dry, cohesive snow that transitioned to corn at 5700’.
• We were hoping for another lap, but the snow was manky at low elevations and our skins were very gloppy, despite skin wax.
• It was another nice day for views.
