Toured above GTSR today to assess conditions at higher elevation and to hopefully get a good look at effects of the recent warming and clearing on the Garden Wall.
-Solid refreeze last night due to scattered/clear skies created ~10cm supportable surface crust to 5k'
-Above 5k' the surface crust gradually thinned and dissapeared by 6k'
-Observed two natural Loose Dry triggered slab avalanches along the Garden Wall (in avalanches tab)
-Loose dry (above 6k') and loose wet (below 6k') activity begins around noon on E aspects
-Quick pit at 6800' NW aspect found a 290cm deep snowpack with the most recent rain/MF crust buried 45cm from the surface and a cohesive small-grained ~1F slab above it. CT and ECTN M 10cm above the crust on a subtle density change, then again on the top of the crust
-Temperatures stayed cool above 6k' keeping the shaded snow surface cold and wintery
