Toured up the snowshed drainage today. Good visibility, warmish temps, and no precip quite yet (as of 1600).
Surface hoar was much less developed here than in other places I have seen recently. Just 4mmish surface hoar around creeks is all I observed.
Surface snow was faceting and weak in the top 2-6 inches. That snow was on top of a boot supportable crust.
Dug a pit on an east aspect at 7100'. Saw 1 layer on the top meter of snow that was unreactive in an ECT (ECTN17).
