Skinned up to Skook ridge from WMR and dug a south facing pit at 6,700' about 100 feet below the ridgeline. The pit was on lookers right (eastern side of the ridge). Total snowpack depth was only 130cm. ECTP 19 at 80 cm (12/17 rain crust) with a Q2 shear. Half the block broke above the crust and half broke below. Faceted snow below the rain crust did not show signs of strengthening. The isolated column test also broke on this layer at 12. We stuck to low angle terrain today and enjoyed the sun with calm to light winds. No snow transport was observed.
