Should have started my tour at noon! Blowing and snowing leaving Hwy 2 this morning, winds out of the west. about 4-5" new at 5900', about 2-3" at lower elevations. I found the new snow on leeward aspect (east to SE) was farily well bonded without any concerns while skiing or skiing. Conversely I did have some cracking underfoot while skiing any open nw aspect. Below 5500' the newly formed breakable crust became more evident. quick pit at 5900' on east aspect showed hs at 115 cm, about 10-15 cm of new snow. no propagation in the pit.
