We skinned out to Cascadilla Creek yesterday and didn't see any recent avalanche activity. We saw some cornice buildup on SE facing chutes going into the drainage, but none had gone naturally that we could see.
We dug a pit on a 34 degree, NW facing slope at about 4400 feet. The PWLs were quite stubborn - ECTN27, Q3 and CTM. The 1/13 crust was buried 75-80 cm deep, and the snowpack was about 200 cm deep.
Regardless of our pit results, we still decided to dial back our terrain choices, and sure enough I did see some shooting cracks.
