Took a couple laps today on repeater ridge above Marion lake. At elevations above the lake, the snow was light and remaining unconsolidated, though noted some cracking starting in the very surface layers of the snow by 1pm, likely a result of the solar effect. No slabbing, cracking, or instability noted in handpits along the skin track. We did see numerous point-releases below rocky terrain on southeast aspects. We noticed one possible crown or maybe a glide crack across the Dickey creek drainage, seen in the attached photos. The stout crust is still very apparent under the new snow at all elevations below the lake.
