Went looking for low angle sheltered terrain in the middle fork today. A melt/freeze crust existed until about 4500ft. Climbed to 6400ft, digging a pit on an eastern aspect. HS was 175cm. No propagating results in our etc. We didn't experience any whumpfing or shooting cracks today. We did see blowing snow on higher peaks in our area. Wind was moderate from the west. The recent storm snow is denser on top with less cohesive snow below it. Skied/rode sheltered terrain under 30 degrees, and there was much rejoicing.
