Toured around in the Jewel and found the conditions to match that forecasted by FAC today. Saw a handful of other folks out enjoying the stable snow conditions before the storm! Explored a variety of aspects and found 15~25cm of faceted very weak sugar-snow on top of the stout Thanksgiving crust on nearly all slopes, except those scoured clean by recent winds. In wind-protected locations, well developed surface hoar was prevalent. We also found pockets of non-reactive (but not too fun to ski on) wind-affected snow throughout most of the Jewel Basin's aprons. We did kick off a few loose/dry sluffs today that easily ran on steeper slopes (35+ degrees).
