Tracked out in Tranquil

Followed a track up Tranquil Basin then split away to break deep trail to the top of Mount Furlong. 

• Dug 2 pits at 6600 feet on an east aspect with no results. The LOC was appararant, but we did not get any results.
• We did not observe any other signs of instability. We stomped on a small cornice on the summit above SE facing line to the Lake and made a ski cut before committing to sking to the lake.

 Second run we followed the established skinner to the top of Devils Hump, which had 8 ski tracks down it already.

• We dug a pit on the West facing aspect at 7200 feet. Results were ECTN17 within the new storm snow (approx. 30 cm down) and ECTN29 on the crust layer 
  (approx. 60 cm down). 
• We did not observe any cracking or whumping once again on this trip to the top.
• We skied cold pow transitioning to denser snow. 

Third run we went back to top of Furlong and skied down NW aspect to the road.

• The west face was starting to get cooked at this point, but we got to ski it an hour or so before I expect it would have started to roller ball. This aspect will probably have a crust on it tommorow.

We went looking for the weak layer today before commiting to skiing big lines and didn't find it. Maybe we got lucky?
