A bit of a disorganized copy/paste here... appologies.
Snow profiles and stability tests identified a seriously weak layer that, while manageable today with only 18cm of snow above it, will likely be a big problem should it remain intact and become deeply buried. There were no observed collapses or cracks while traveling except for the cave-ins in the vicinity of downed trees.
Snowshoed from 3500 to 6000' mostly on NW to W aspects but with a few hundred vertical feet on a SW aspect.
