Was in Wahoo from 11-4:30 today, notes:
- Ski crampons would be real nice right now below 4,500 ft. on steep slopes
- Lots of signs of natural slides, but hard to tell if they are from the most recent storm or before. A lot of natural point slides that didn’t run particularly far and a few slides that propagated across east and north slopes in steep terrain within the new snow that, again, didn’t travel far
- Skied only north and west aspects; about 8 in. of new cohesionless snow above 6,000 ft. on a supportable-ish crust. A fair amount of sluffing on slopes above 35 degrees, but very manageable. It’s like the heavy winds of the last few days never happened on west and north aspects in Wahoo—no signs of wind effect or loading, even near ridgetops
- By 4, on exposed, west aspects, the sun was in full effect—trees were beginning drip and shed snow (not a lot, but worth noting) and the new snow was beginning to get the glop. My guess is south aspects got fried today
