Wet loose slides

FOFAC board member Jenny Cloutier and I traveled to Rescue Creek to view developing avalanche activity.

• There were minimal small sluffs that occurred in this drainage Thursday, April 1.
• South and southeast aspects at mid and upper elevations went through a wet loose cycle starting Friday morning and lasting through 2:00 p.m. Slides were generally D1.5 with a couple of D2s. Clear conditions, strong sunshine, warm air temperatures, and a poor or non-existent overnight freeze contributed to today's avalanche activity.
• Northerly aspects had minimal activity consisting of rollerballs through our 2:00 p.m. exit. 
• We noted blowing snow above 7000 feet on Nyack Mountain throughout the day.
