Skied east-facing terrain at 6000-7000’ today. The ridge-top was quite wind-affected, as were the top couple of turns. We did release one small wind slab in those upper turns, with no propagation beyond the length the ski, but that did entrain more surface snow on the long, slow slide down. Otherwise, we found several inches of new, unconsolidated, snow on top of a firm crust. We did observe many old point releases and wet-loose slides from prior days on the rocky, south-facing terrain we passed while getting a good shake-down from the rollercoaster ride that the roads offer this time of year.
