Drove to the corner of the Northeast corner of the forest:
Rain crust from 3200' - 5600+'
Barely perceptible at the valley floor increasing to 1/8" thick at 5600' (highest elevation reached)
Wind gusting to moderate from the SW
Crust prevented any blowing snow
Total snow depth on North aspect at 5600' was 12" and entirely from 12/4 and 12/6 storms

Pit on N aspect 5600': 3mm K hard rain crust capping 15 cm F hard PP on top of 15 cm 4F hard PP. Reportedly rained at this site for a few hours in the morning. Began raining lightly at 1300. 25 degrees F.
