Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Dug a pit off of the N - NE aspect of Skook Ridge at ~2050 M elev. Total snowpack depth = 280 cm. CTN x 3. Valentines day crust about 1 cm thick, about 50 cm from the top. Large surface hoar formation (up to ~2cm!!) was noted in this area on multiple aspects and remained well preserved throughout the entire day.

Large cornices formed on the north side of Skook ridge. Cornices were drooping - showing evidence of the warming trend over the last few days. No cornice fall/failure was witnessed. North aspects offered well preserved soft snow, but southern aspects had a sun crust, and had evidence of roller balls and loose-wet point releases from previous days. Test slopes did not react to jumping, kicking or screaming.

Very warm, but temps did not exceed 5° C.  Calm to no winds. The day started out with completely clear skies, but by 1330, light cloud cover was beginning to roll in.
