More detailed information about the snowpack: 

nice spring day at marion lake area. about 1-3" of new on south aspect, 3-7" on north. hand shears showed failure of the old/new snow interface at moderate force on decomposing melt/freeze/rain crust. elevation of 5k seemed to be the notable change fromm spring to winter. of note, in the right spots winds were actively loading and we were able to purposely trigger D2 wind/storm slab that ran full path, about 2k feet, so stay alert!
