More detailed information about the snowpack: 

There is substantially less new snow from storms (12/16/15 to 12/24/15) in this area compared to the Flathead Range and the Swan Range. Evidence of this is that the December 9 rain crust is only about 3 feet from the snow surface as compared to 5 feet in other places within the advisory area.

ECTN 18 @ 28 cm from the surface on small rounding facets and decomposing/fragmented precipitation particles.

ECTN28 @ 55 cm from the surface on rounding facets.
