We skinned up the south repeater slope at about 1030 am. The sun was out, but the temps remained cool with no sun affect on the S slope. From Point 7200 we skied a North facing avy path into Dickey creek. The upper portion was deep, unconsolidated powder. Sluff released easily with a ski cut and ran half way down the slope (800 ft.). Half way down the slope the path became a chute. In the chute we found a wind slab that was easy to manage with hop turns. In the apron we released a pocket 6 inches deep and 50 feet wide and it ran 400 feet. THis slab was intentionally triggered and the skier skied to a safe zone.
2nd run we skied the S face from the high point 7200 to Marion lake. No sun affect, no wind slab, no sluff. enjoyable skiing.
3rd run we skinned up Essex mountain and skied the N facing path next to the pinners. No wind affect, soft snow, no sluff, pow skiing. The other party skied the main pinner chute and got sluff the run the entire length of the chute.
4th run we skied the back door chute. No sun affect, no wind slab, no sluff, great skiing.
