Below 5,000 feet, the snowpack had a weak or non-refreeze and was slushy and unsupportive on open slopes. Above 6,000 feet, there was 2" -10" of recent snow over the last crust, depending on aspect and windload. The snow was dense and becoming moist, but appeared to be bonded well to the underlying crust based on shear tests and ski cuts on steep terrain and suspect rollovers. Around 5,000-6,000 feet, the recent snow became wet and was starting to rollerball under ski cuts.
Apart from a few recent small wet loose avalanches at mid elevations, I didn't see any recent avalanche activity in this area. I could see one recent cornice fall on Great Northern Mountain (See photo). I didn't have a good perspective on the slope, but it looks like it triggered a large slab avalanche. SS-NC-R1-D2-U
